Day 5: Jaipur

Wow!  What an unbelievable time we had in Jaipur today!

We started the day with Sheetal and her family eating a delicious Indian breakfast prepared by their cook.  It was delicious!

Since it was raining in the morning, we decided to head straight to Raj Mandir -- one of the world's most famous movie theaters.  The three hour movie we saw was in Hindi but the experience was absolutely unforgettable.  If you ever make it to India, you won't regret taking the time to see a movie.

Next we went to Sisodia Rani Garden and Palace.  This was a palace built by a maharaja for his wife (who smartly refused to live with his other wives).

Then we visited Galwar Bagh, the monkey temple.  This is a very holy place and men and women bathe openly in the holy water.  The kids definitely saw more than they expected!  And it turns out Spencer is the monkey whisperer!

When we arrived back home we celebrated Raksha Bandhan with Sheetal.  This is a festival honoring brothers and sisters.  We were each given a rakhi (bracelet).

We will be heading back out shortly for dinner and hope to do some volunteering tomorrow.  Thanks for taking the time to read about our adventures!
